The Template Gallery contains course design resources and templates that can be imported into your Canvas course. Each template has been created using the instructional design standards and utilizes Canvas best practices. The templates can be customized for your individual needs after they are imported into your course.

🔴 Note: It is important to import the template into your empty course shell to prevent course content from being overwritten.

6-Week Summer Asynchronous Template

This 6-Week Asynchronous Template is best for fully online summer courses. It is set up with one Course Overview module and six modules, one for each week. Each module includes a module overview page, pages for readings, videos, or practice, a discussion, and an assignment. The template also has a Syllabus Template, an Instructor page, and other course resource pages. Each week's module is made up of four sections: LEARN, ENGAGE, APPLY, and REFLECT. All items can be edited to suit your course needs.

12-week Summer Asynchronous Template

Twice a Week Template

This Twice a Week Template is best for courses that meet twice a week. Each module is divided into two sections for each day the class meets and provides space to provide students with information about what to do Before, During, and After each class day. Each module also contains an assignment, discussion, quiz, and reflection survey. All items can be edited or removed.

Three Times a Week Template

This Three Times a Week Template is best for courses that meet three times a week. Each module is divided into three sections for each day the class meets and provides space to provide students with information about what to do Before, During, and After each class day. Each module also contains an assignment, discussion, quiz, and reflection survey. All items can be edited or removed.

Once a Week or Flipped Class Course Template - COMING SOON

The Once a Week Template is best for courses that are either set up to meet only once a week or that are flipped so students can engage with content in Canvas before you meet to focus on active learning activities when you meet. Each module landing page is made up of three sections: Overview, Before Class, During Class, and To Complete or Submit.
